So what is Aegean Fitness and how do we practice it? Aegean Fitness includes plenty of exercise and good nutrition. But it also includes reading, rest, prayer, friendship, creative work, and so many other things provide overall health. I talk about these things. For example, here is a normal day in my life:
00 - I wake up, read scripture, run, and swim. I also think and pray about what I read while I run and swim. After swimming, I run home, lift light weights, stretch, and breathe deep.
00 - I audio record or take notes on what I have been praying and thinking about. This is often the most creative part of my day.
00 - I eat breakfast. This is the most important meal of my day. An Aegean breakfast often includes leafy greens, peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggs, white cheese, tahini, and fresh fruit jams or molasses.
00 - I write. I often write about what I took notes on earlier.
00 - I eat lunch. Usually yoghurt with seasonal fruit.
00 - I visit or host neighbors at home until evening. This time is flexible. I may write or do other work. But, I love spending as much time as I can with neighbors. I live in a friendly community. Having tea with neighbors is life-giving for me.
00 - I eat dinner. Usually seasonal vegetables. Sometimes fish.
00 - I may spend more time with neighbors, have a cup of herbal tea, read, or do another relaxing activity.
00 - I go to sleep.
This is an example of how I may practice Aegean Fitness today. Tomorrow is another day and will look a little different. Maybe it will rain. Or maybe I will travel. But I still try to practice Aegean Fitness everyday.
